The Socialist MPs submitted a new simple motion, this time against Minister of Justice Vladimir Cebotari. According to the Socialists, the promises made by the minister as regards corruption fighting were not delivered, IPN reports.
According to Socialist MP Vasile Bolea, the work of the Ministry of Justice has been compromised by the current government. The minister also does other work besides his duties, such as the foundation of an airline with the aim of making the national operator Air Moldova insolvent.
The MP added that most of the bills proposed by the Ministry aim to limit the human rights. No actions are taken to strengthen mediation and the institution of ombudsperson. No strategy for examining cases in court within reasonable timeframes is promoted, while the activities designed to fight corruption are reduced to the simulation of reforms.
The motion against the minister of justice is the fifth one proposed by the Socialists MPs since May, when they announced that they will seek the dismissal of all the members of the executive. The first four simple motions were against ministers Corina Fusu, Anatol Salaru, Octavian Armasu, and Iurie Chirinciuc. The first three were debated and rejected. On July 1, Parliament is to examine the motion against Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Iurie Chirinciuc.
