Social Democratic Platform suggests testing integrity of future ministers

The Social Democratic Platform that consists of the Social Democratic Party of Moldova, the Centrist Union and the Progressive Society Party proposes testing the integrity of the future ministers. Members of the Platform told a news conference that only this way can the people’s confidence in the political class be restored, IPN reports.

Centrist Union leader Mihai Petrache said that before voting in the future Cabinet, the candidate for premiership should present the list of ministers and should ask the National Integrity Commission, the National Anticorruption Center, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Security and Intelligence Service and NGOs working in the field of justice to appraise the integrity of each candidate for minister.

Sergiu Corobceanu, the representative of the Social Democratic Party of Moldova, said the Platform’s proposal is a kind of test for the political class of Moldova. Such a test would restore the people’s confidence in politicians and would lay the basis for a real fight against corruption and would stimulate the creation of a new, upright political class.

Marin Livadaru, the leader of the Progressive Society Party, noted that the time is now opportune for such a test. He called upon the members of the Liberal Democratic Party to be courageous and choose a new administration of the party and to insist on early elections and on the test proposed by the Platform.
