“If Ghimpu admits that the alliance does not exist, we expect that the AEI members will announce this officially,” the chairman of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon said in response to the statements made by the Liberal Party head. “In this case, the rules of the game change and the Socialists will reserve the right to put forward their own candidates for the presidency,” Igor Dodon stated in a communiqué, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu, in the program “Moldova in Direct” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, said that the Lupu-Ghimpu-Filat Alliance for the election of the head of state no longer exists as there is now a Lupu-Filat-Dodon Alliance. This way, Mihai Ghimpu commented on the critical situation inside the AEI as regards the selection of a presidential candidate.
