Socialists report on work done during summer session of legislature

During the spring-summer session, the socialist parliamentary group presented tens of draft laws concerning the legal, economic, social and political spheres. In a press release, the party mentions in particular the bills to step up control over the circulation of narcotic and psychotropic substances, to ban casinos, to annul the Law on Equality of Chances and to amend the laws on veterans, medical preparations and others, IPN reports.

The party says that six bills that were earlier drafted by Socialist MPs were submitted later by the Government in its name. “This way, the Government of Pavel Filip copies the legislative initiatives of the Socialist parliamentary group in a non-dissimulated way,” it is said in the press release.

More than 9,000 petitions of people addressed to Socialist MPs had been collected during half a year on the electronic petitions website petitia.md. For comparison, over 2,000 petitions were filed to Parliament in the period, say the Socialists.

The Socialist MPs also submitted 11 applications to the Constitutional Court during half a year.

For now, the Socialist parliamentary group is the only one that made public a report on the work done during the session that ended on July 29.
