Some institutions and companies will work during holidays
Several institutions and companies announced they would stay open during the winter holidays, some on full scale, while others on a reduced schedule. Medical establishments say they will provide medical assistance at full rate and will operate according to a pre-approved schedule, “ensuring an increased vigilance in providing quality medical care to the population”.
According to the Ministry of Health, the medical institutions are to be supplied with necessary amounts of medicine, consumables and fuel for their activity. Urgent medical assistance will be provided on a 24/7 basis.
The subsidiaries of the ”Familia” drugstore announced they would be open during all holidays.
Only one post office in Moldova will be operating on January 1 and 7 – the office no. 12, from 12 AM to 4 PM. All the territorial offices will be closed.
Around 6000 policemen will be on duty all over the country. 598 patrolling itineraries will be created for the holidays.
Additional police posts will be installed on the national highways and district centers in order to ensure public order and road safety.
In Chisinau, officials will suspend the traffic on the Stefan-cel-Mare Blvd, Puskin and Mitropolit Banulescu-Bodoni Streets. If needed, the traffic will be suspended from the Mihai Viteazu Street to Ismail Street, being transferred to the Bucuresti Street. Additional parking lots will be planned as well.
Civil Protection and Exceptional Situations Service announced it would work, as usual, on a 24/7 program, regardless of the holidays. The Central Market will suspend its activity\ on January 1 and 7.
Urban Bus Park and the Electric Transportation Administration will operate according to the usual schedule, but will provide less transportation units.
During the holidays Banca de Economii will keep all its subsidiaries working, except for the central office. Moldincombank and Victoriabank will not operate on January 1 and 7. Eximbank and the National Bank of Moldova will be on holidays from December 31 to January 10.
The stores of S.A “Franzeluţa” will work according to the daily schedule, while Bucuria shops will reduce their program.
Chisinau’s supermarkets will be available to the costumers as usual, no holiday breaks being planned for this period.
