Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said he considers the political class should withdraw if it does not manage to do reforms in a number of problematic areas by the end of this year and should allow others to carry out this task. This is how he commented on the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu’s statement that the Liberal Party will withdraw from the ruling alliance if a number of reforms are not launched and promoted by November, IPN reports.
“We didn’t discuss time limits for doing reforms. The reforms are important and we should not wait for November. I set another deadline and another goal. I said that if the current political class does not take radical measures and does not do reforms by this yearend, it should leave and allow others to do this. The deadline set by Mister Ghimpu is too far. I think we should start the coming days,” said the Speaker.
Asked what he meant, Andrian Candu said the political class will have to be re-formed and it is sometimes useful to take a step backward in politics, but this does not necessarily mean new parties, new people, new faces. “Society is now seriously dissatisfied and the political class should find maturity and transmit a message and should do reforms. It must unite society,” he stated.
In a TV program, Mihai Ghimpu said the Liberal Party will leave the Alliance for European Integration 3 if the party’s demands that are contained in the agreement to form the alliance are not met by November.
