State institutions will no longer be shared according to political criteria, Filat

State institutions won’t be shared according to political criteria any longer in the near future, stated Prime Minister Vlad Filat in an interview with Radio Europa Libera. The Prime Minister added that law enforcement institutions will also be depoliticized, because there mustn’t be any personal interests at stake within them, Info-Prim Neo reports. “In the near future, these institutions won’t be shared on a political basis. We have governmental positions under parliamentary control which can be shared. But there are some institutions, like the ones in the justice department, within the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Security and Intelligence Service, the National Anti-Corruption Center, the National Integrity Commission. So, there is a number of institutions that have to enforce the law in Moldova”, added the Prime Minister. Vlad Filat has also stated that reforms in general are an ongoing process. “Surely, the process has a goal and interior mechanisms that ensure that this goal comes to fruition. There is also a factor that must not be taken out of context – the process takes time as well; and sometimes perhaps it is necessary to spend more time in order to salvage the quality of the reforms pursued by these actions. Regardless of arguments and delays, I keep seeing the bright side of things, observing that our society as a whole is maturing”, stated the Prime Minister. Presently, positions in state institutions are distributed politically, according to an agreement among the three parties in the ruling coalition.
