The future members of the Cabinet, if this is led by the designated candidate Ion Sturza, will sign an integrity statement.  Ion Sturza discussed the issue with representatives of civil society in a meeting held in the evening of December 24, IPN reports.

According to the candidate, the future ministers must not have committed acts of corruption and influence peddling and must not be involved in conflicts of interests. These will declare that they do not have property that cannot be justified, didn’t flagrantly violate the public morals and ethics, didn’t cooperate and do not cooperate with intelligence services of other states. The future ministers must have finished a renowned education institution in Moldova or abroad. Asked if he meets these criteria, Ion Sturza said he perfectly satisfies them.

In another development, Ion Sturza told the representatives of civil society that he would like to come before them with a one-page government program that would contain all the steps that must be taken. The country has many programs and memorandums that should be simply implemented. “We today launch a website through which you can submit proposals for each area. My team of volunteers will analyze the proposals and will compile a program that wil contain the,” he stated. The candidate promised he will be attentive to what civil society says and will have a permanent dialogue with it.

Ion Sturza also said that he has the task of opening a corridor for young politicians, but it depends on these how they use it. As to Maia Sandu, he noted that she should make use of the popularity she enjoys among the people.

Ion Sturza was nominated candidate for Prime Minister on December 21. By January 4, this must present the government program and seek of a vote of confidence in Parliament. The new executive can be invested with at least 51 votes of MP.
