Supporters of Andrei Nastase to gather together at Chisinau City Hall tomorrow morning

After the Supreme Court of Justice upheld the decision to invalidate the Chisinau mayoral election results, supporters of mayor-elect Andrei Nastase agreed to resume the protests at the Chisinau City Hall tomorrow morning. The next steps are to be decided there.

“We will transmit our messages to this government by all legal ways, but the messages will be harsh as we do not accept dictatorship. Tomorrow morning we will mount a new protest at the City Hall, starting at 7:30am. There, we will tell you what we will do the comings days, will announce our plans,” IPN quoted the leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity Maia Sandu as saying.

“We will decide exactly how to act and to attract more upright people with capacity with whom we could riposte to this criminal,” stated the leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”.

All those who are against the current government led by the PDM were invited to the protest.

After the Chisinau City Court on June 19 decided to not validate the election of Andrei Nastase as mayor, the Appeals Court upheld this decision one day later. Under the argued judgment of the ordinary court, both Andrei Nastase and Ion Ceban campaigned on the election day, which is inadmissible according to the Election Code. Both of the candidates, through the agency of live streams on social networking sites, called on the electorate to vote. Even if these didn’t say who namely the people should vote for, the court decided that these actions had a significant impact on the voters’ option.
