The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation is ready to develop the cooperation with the Government of Moldova in implementing a number of important projects designed to improve the living conditions and to promote democratic values, the Agency’s director Manuel Sager stated in a meeting with Prime Minister Pavel Filip, IPN reports.
“It is important for the Government to offer assistance to the citizens who are abroad and optimal solutions for those who are here so that they do not leave the country. We see our role in contributing to ensuring a pluralistic and more inclusive society,” stated Manuel Sager.
According to the Government’s press office, the interlocutors discussed aspects of migration and social inclusion and the Moldovan-Swiss cooperation in ensuring the multidimensional development of Moldova.
In the discussion, the Prime Minister appreciated the fact that Switzerland decided to double the volume of financial assistance intended for Moldova in 2014-2017 and the contribution to developing the Moldovan Government’s policies in relation to the diaspora. He assured that the Moldovan authorities will make effort to ensure the efficient management of the Swiss funds so as to successfully implement the projects initiated in Moldova.
