Those who took part in the hunting in the Domneasca Forest that resulted in the death of a man tried to hush up this case by all methods, but didn’t take into account the fact that the Republic of Moldova is a large suburb, said the chairman of the Centrist Union of Moldova (UCM), jurist Mihai Petrache, who stated for Info-Prim Neo that the tragic accident revealed the most negative features of the current government regime that generates the syndrome of irresponsibility in conditions of collective coalition. “Those who took part in the hunting got scared and believed that their status will save them and they will not be punished. It was a big mistake of all those who decided to hide this case. Normally, it would have been honorable to take all the measures needed to save that young man and to record that accident,” said the politician. Mihai Petrache also said that hiding the acts was a mistake and even naivety. “The Republic of Moldova is a large suburb. I don’t think that the about 30 persons who took part in the hunting were friends or from the same circle. It seems that there were people from another circle and the information was spread. It was an accident with fatal consequences and this case shouldn’t have been hidden,” said Mihai Petrache. According to him, those who are in power should be ashamed to say that they found out about this case that happened on December 23 at the beginning of January. Mihai Petrache said that every morning at 7.30, the Ministry of the Interior informs the senior authorities about the crime situation in the country. Even if they were on vacation, the President, the Prime Minister and the Head of Parliament were to be informed. The Security and Information Service must also know about such cases. “These statements cannot be taken seriously,” said Mihai Petrache. The jurist also said that the Prosecutor’s Office must be an autonomous, independent body in fulfilling its duties, but the procedure for investing the prosecutor general and vice prosecutors is an element of the political system and implies a political consensus in appointing the government officials. “The post of prosecutor general holds political interest. It is political in essence,” stated the politician. Sorin Paciu, 34, was wounded fatally during hunting on December 23. The former vice president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals Gheorghe Cretu is investigated for unintentional killing in this case. The general public found out about this case on January 6, after a news conference held by politician Sergiu Mocanu, who is the leader of the “Antimafie” Movement.
