Tkachuk’s leaving reveals disagreements inside PCRM, Lupu

The vacation by Mark Tkachuk of the seat of MP shows that the Communist Party (PCRM) is facing disagreements and that the party’s leader Vladimir Voronin no longer controls the party members, the head of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) said in the program “Politics” on TV7 channel, IPN reports.

“I think there is a serious fissure in the PCRM. We will see if Mark Tcachuk leaves the party. In the PCRM, there are now serious disagreements. What is happening in the PCRM is not a show. I consider that the situation inside the party can worsen. The last events show that the Communist Party is no longer a monolith. And this is a first signal for the leftwing voters,” said Marian Lupu.

He denied the accusations that the PDM bribes the voters, made by the Communist leader. “What should Mister Voronin say now that councilors and mayors defect from the PCRM to the PDM. The party’s leader does not control things and the members leave. This thing bothers Voronin. The people leave the party not because they are bought. They are persons with rich experience. No person joins the PDM because they are offered presents or money. These accusations are dirty attacks on persons and the party,” stated Marian Lupu.

He added that the PDM does not hold talks with the PCRM and does not intend to do it in the near future. He described Vladimir Voronin’s recent statements that the PCRM would form an alliance with the PDM as attempt to stir things up in the party.
