Travel documents will be checked by Mobile-Doc
The Border Guard Service of Moldova will use a new mechanism for verifying travel documents. The device Mobile-Doc “Projectina” was donated within the Strengthening Capacities and Cooperation in the Identification of Forged and Falsified Travel Documents at the Moldova-Romania Border Project that is implemented by the International Center for Migration Policy Development, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The device was handed over to the Document Examination Division by the Dutch Consul in Moldova Robert de Groof.
According to Moldovan border guards, the device will enable to strengthen capacities, increase the level of professionalism and achieve the main objective set by the Border Guard Service – to combat illegal migration.
As part of the project, there were organized conferences and workshops, seminars for trainers, fact-finding visits to Poland, Hungary, Austria, and the Netherlands for exchanging experience at national and international levels.
The 18-month Strengthening Capacities and Cooperation in the Identification of Forged and Falsified Travel Documents at the Moldova-Romania Border Project was launched on April 1, 2009. Afterward, it was extended for another six months, until March 2011.
