Ukrainian foreign minister comes to Chisinau to discuss situation in Palanca
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Konstantin Grishchenko will pay a visit to Moldova on July 7. According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, the Ukrainian official will give a news conference to make public the conclusions reached in the meetings that he will have in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The program of the visit includes meetings with Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca, Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Head of Parliament and Acting President of Moldova Marian Lupu. Konstantin Grishchenko will also meet with members of parliamentary groups, including the opposition.
During a meeting with inhabitants of Palanca village of Stefan Voda district on July 2, Iurie Leanca said the discussions with the Ukrainian foreign minister will also focus on the situation created in Palanca after ceding 8 km of the Odessa-Reni highway to Ukraine. On July 1, more than 200 villagers had protested for about three hours, expressing their concern that they will not have access to their farmland situated beyond the highway.
