The resignation tendered by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk was rejected by the Ukrainian Supreme Rada in an extraordinary meeting on July 31, IPN reports.
According to the state information agency of Ukraine “Ukrinform”, only 16 MPs voted for the dismissal of Arseniy Yatseniuk at a time when 226 votes were needed for the purpose. 109 MPs voted against, while 184 abstained.
Arseniy Yatseniuk offered his resignation on July 24 for the reason that the majority coalition in the Supreme Rada fell apart and the Rada refused to support the amendments proposed to the budget.
