Union is only solution for solving problems of Moldovans, statement

Moldova’s union with Romania is the only solution for solving the problems faced by the Moldovans. The Republic of Moldova reached a difficult moment and can survive only if it unites with Romania, mayor of Bacioi commune of Chisinau municipality Vitalie Selari stated after announcing his defection from the Liberal Party to the National Unity Party (PUN) in a news conference at IPN.

Vitalie Selari reminded that the commune he heads is one of the communities that signed a symbolic statement on the union with Romania. “Our direction is towards Romania. We hope a lot that we will benefit from the support of our brothers from over the Prut and will manage to improve the living standards of the inhabitants of Bacioi whom we represent. We should bring the nice things that exist in Romania to our country,” he stated.

Cornel Pintea, chairman of the PUN Chisinau Organization, said Moldova’s union with Romania is the only solution for having better living standards, a powerful economy, fair justice and a future. “Regrettably, currently the Republic of Moldova cannot exist as a state. The Republic of Moldova needs a powerful ally, such as Romania,” stated Cornel Pintea.

Ilie Leahu, deputy mayor of Bacioi, said the Republic of Moldova is in a continuous process of turbulent transition where democracy is limited, the people’s welfare is at the poverty line, while the exodus of the population continues to grow. “As we are in the year of the centenary, the Great Union year, it’s time to do concrete things to ensure the supreme idea of Romania and Bessarabia, of all the Romanians everywhere – the union,” stated Ilie Leahu.

Local councilor Mircea Ciubotaru said parties that struggle for integration into the Eurasian Union and those that promise integration into the European Union can no longer be tolerated in power. “The union is the only available solution. Only in this context can we achieve all the set objectives,” he stated.

The mayor, a deputy mayor and seven local councilors of Bacioi commune of Chisinau municipality on February 16 announced that they decided to join the National Unity Party, which pleads for Moldova’s union with Romania.
