[Update:] on Thursday evening, the Supreme Court postponed again the recount of votes for the Chisinau Council. Follow updates for details. The ballots cast in the June 5 elections for the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) will be transmitted on Thursday at 6:00pm to the electoral bureaus, where they will be recounted, stated Iulian Balan, the chairman of the Chisinau Election Council. The recount order was upheld by the Court of Appeals, after on Wednesday evening the Centru District Court postponed the recount for an indefinite period of time. The Liberal Party sought the recount for the CMC, citing violations and instances of electoral fraud.
