The U.S. officials said they came to Moldova to reassert their support and to identify new cooperation partnerships, IPN reports, quoting the Parliament’s press service.

In a meeting, the U.S. Senators informed Head of Parliament Igor Corman about the draft resolution on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Moldova that was registered at the U.S. Congress by James Inhofe on April 3 this year and was signed by another four members of the delegation. According to a communiqué of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), the meeting focused on the strengthening of the dialogue with the U.S. partners in ensuring the national security, including energy security, and in covering the path to the EU. The leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat underlined that Moldova counts on the support of the U.S. in its efforts to strengthen energy security, the diversification of the energy sources and resources being one of its top priorities.
