The senior officials manifested disrespect for the people by their actions, Valentin Dolganiuc, one of the organizers of the protest in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau, said in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.
“The rulers had five months at their disposal to fulfill the people’s demands. In April, May and June, tens of thousands of people protested and put forward demands in the Great National Assembly Square. But those who are in power ignored them,” stated Dolganiuc.
The representative of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” said the investigations into the stealing of billions of lei from the banking system were false. “The delay in investigating this theft of the century shows that the rulers do not want those to blame to be held accountable. The Parliament sitting where this theft was discussed was mockery,” he added.
Valentin Dolganiuc also said that protesters’ representatives declined the invitation to meet at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, made by Prime Minister Valeriu Strele, because there is a risk that the protests will be suppressed. “While the organizers will be elsewhere, provocations could be staged to justify the use of force by the police,” he stated.
