Valentina Buliga, the candidate of the Democratic Party (PDM) for mayor general of Chisinau municipality, considers the current election campaign follows a wrong path. She called on the electoral contenders to abandon the black PR practices and senseless shows and to start genuine debates so as to address the real problems faced by the people, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Instead of centering on the problems confronting the people in Chisinau, other towns and in villages, some of the runners transform the campaign into a cheap electoral show. We witness harsher cases of attack, pressurizing and harassment of the candidates, while the authorities do not take steps to ensure public order and punish the offenders,” said Valentina Buliga.
The vice president of the PDM stressed that the Prime Minister summoned a meeting with officials of the law enforcement bodies to discuss the attacks on election runners, but the Government got involved especially after a candidate of the PLDM was attacked in Milestii Mici. “We are waiting for the results of the investigations and expect that measures will be taken in all these cases, no matter who is to blame,” said Valentina Buliga.
In the same connection, the PDM's candidate said the dirty electoral practices include the printing and distribution of fake newspapers that are designed to cause conflicts among the components of the Alliance for European Integration and between the Democratic parties and the Democratic press in Moldova.
According to Valentina Buliga, these acts are orchestrated by the black PR team of the PCRM, which often uses such schemes in election campaigns. “Signals reached the PDM staff, confirming that the fake papers and other black PR materials are made at publishing houses in Transnistria. We do not know, but presume that there is somebody from outside behind Dodon, as the Premier also assumed. We expect that the investigation bodies will examine this hypothesis,” said the Democrats' candidate, reiterating the call for a clean election campaign.
Valentina Buliga also said that the current election campaign consists of a series of image speculations that look meaningless to the ordinary people.
