Liberal-Democratic MP Valeriu Giletski is the 57th MP who gave a vote of confidence to the Filip Government. After the special sitting of Parliament, the lawmaker said that what had been built would have been destroyed by early elections, IPN reports.
“A coalition could not be formed after the vote of 2014, but this does not mean that the vote is no longer valid. As I realized that we do not have time to form another alliance, I decided to join in the colleagues. Risking not to be understood, I voted because I think this is the best option for bringing the crisis that started 83 days ago to an end and offering the country a chance to continue its road,” said the Lib-Dem.
As regards the Filip Government, Valeriu Giletski said he had enough reasons to vote against, but this would have meant not taking the chance to go on. “The vote I gave today in conditions of maximum tensions is a conditional vote. I expect the announced reforms will be promoted. This is a difficult task for the coalition and for the voted in Government, but I think it was the only correct option,” he stated.
The Filip Government was voted in by the votes of 57 MPs amid large-scale protests mounted near the Parliament Building.
