Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet gave a press briefing following the two news conferences held by the leaders of the Party of Socialists and the Party of Communists. The Premier said the goal of the two is to derail Moldova from the European course, IPN reports.
“Leaving aside the lies and insults formulated by these personages today, which really do not deserve being commented, I want to say that a plot is hatched against Moldova. In the evening of last Thursday, I spoke about a possible interweaving of interests in Moldova’s Parliament, aimed at gathering the votes needed to dismiss a European Government. I consider that today’s statements are not a bluff and I treat them with seriousness and concern,” said Valeriu Strelet.
He noted that a well-orchestrated attack was launched against the Government. “The goal of the two news conferences was to prevent Moldova from following its path of European integration by denigrating the Government,” sated the Premier.
He also said that the censure motion that is likely to be put forward could be put to a secret vote in Parliament. “The games were mainly played and the final, secret vote for the dismissal of the European government will follow in Parliament as I’m sure that the protagonists of this perfidious and painful scenario will not dear to show their real faces,” stated the Head of Government, adding that he will sue Igor Dodon for calumny and public defamation .
The leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon told a news conference that the agenda of the next sitting of Parliament will contain a censure motion against the Government the and draft decisions for the dismissal of six institution heads. The Communists’ leader Vladimir Voronin said that justice started to be done last Thursday (October 15, when Lib-Dem Vlad Filat was deprived of parliamentary immunity and arrested on corruption charges – e.n.). The politician harshly criticized the ruling parties, saying they are unable to govern the country and can only divide posts and financial flows.
