The Liberal Democratic Party further insists on the right to suggest the candidate for Prime Minister, acting head of the PLDM Valeriu Strelet said after a new round of talks between the PDM, PLDM, PL and Iurie Leanca’s group held in the evening of December 15.

“We are in a very difficult period and thus firmly demand the post of Prime Minister. We are not now immediately after the elections to speak about formulas and number of seats,” stated Strelet.

He noted that the PDM proposed to continue the negotiations in the presence of President Nicolae Timofti. “This evening we had a round of clarifications rather than of talks. We agreed that tomorrow we will meet with President Timofti and to state the current situation and parties’ views. We will see tomorrow if we can overcome this stalemate. Maybe we will make progress tomorrow,” said the leader of the Lib-Dems.

Strelet added that he asked the representatives of the PDM to explain why they fielded candidate Vlad Plahotniuc for the post of Prime Minister without consulting first the other parties, but the Democrats refused to answer.
