The National Liberal Party (PNL) will not withdraw from the electoral race in favor of other parties, as it did in July 2009, the party’s chairwoman Vitalia Pavlichenco said in the program “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, IPN reports.
Vitalia Pavlickenco stated that she made that concession in 2009 under the pressure of society so as not to allow the Communists to return to power, but now regrets it as the political parties of the right that took power disappointed the people.
In this connection, the leader of the PNL said they will not support the call of the chairman of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu, who asked the extraparliamentary parties to withdraw from the electoral race so as not to diminish the vote of the parties that have chances to enter Parliament. “Marian Lupu should better take care of his party, which, as the Liberal Party, is floating around the limit and it’s not known if it passes the election threshold,” she stated.
Vitalia Pavlichenco considers that in the electoral race the PNL is put in conditions of disloyal competition as it does not have enough money, while the elections will be rigged by the government coalition. “The insufficiency of financial resources is our only problem. We have a good team, a very clear message and a strategy for reintegrating the two states of the Romanian nation,” she said.
She noted that the PNL will further promote the unionist message, which is supported by remarkable personalities from Romania and by politicians from the EU.
