The contract for the purchase of natural gas from Russia, which was negotiated by Zinaida Grecheanyi and Igor Dodon in 2005, kneeled Moldova down before Moscow, the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat said in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
The Liberal-Democratic leader said he does not understand the logic of the formula for setting the purchase price of natural gas, which made the Moldovan end-users pay exaggerated prices for gas. He also leveled criticism at the then Communist President Vladimir Voronin. “It is the easiest thing to shift the responsibility onto someone else and to gather the laurels only. It’s surprising that the then head of state realized that we paid too high prices for the Russian gas only now. If the law enforcement bodies decide that Dodon and Grecheanyi should be investigated and held accountable, they must act in accordance with the law,” he stated.
Vlad Filat said he also considers that the Party of Socialists is a camouflaged electoral bloc, as the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin asserted. “If the Central Election Commission establishes that this is true, it will have to increase the election threshold for this party to 9% or even 11%,” he noted.
He reiterated that the Liberal Democratic Party will form a coalition with the pro-European parties. “We already gained experience of governing the country in a coalition. But a coalition with the left parties is excluded. I refer to the Party of Communists as I think that no other parties of the political left will enter Parliament,” stated Filat.
