“I today voted for our villages, towns and districts to be managed by professionals,” the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat wrote on a social networking site, where he also posted a picture of him putting his ballot in the ballot box, IPN reports.

In his message, Vlad Filat wishes success to his colleagues who run in the elections on behalf of the Liberal Democratic Party.

More than 2.8 million people eligible to vote are expected to cast their ballots in today’s elections and to choose their mayors and local and district councilors for the next four-year term. The polling places are open between 7am until 9pm.
