Vlad Filat: We are to obtain plan of action for visa regime linearization on January 14

Prime Minister designate Vlad Filat said the Government is in active relations with the European Union and is to obtain the EU-Moldova plan of action for the liberalization of the visa regime on January 14. The Premier made related statements in an interview for Radio Free Europe, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “When we opened the talks, our objective was to sign this agreement in a period of three years. This agreement means visa-free regime and free trade. I must say that we made significant progress in obtaining a visa-free regime. On January 14, we are to obtain the plan of action. We are in a very, very active relation with the EU,” said Vlad Filat. He also said that the talks on the EU-Moldova Association Agreement go on and the document will be signed when Moldova is ready in all the fields. The negotiations on the liberalization of the visa regime for the Moldovan travelers to the EU were opened in 2010. On December 17, 2010, Vlad Filat returned from Brussels with the EU-Moldova plan of action approved by the European Commission. Vlad Filat has served as Premier during the entire period of government of the Alliance for European Integration. In the December 30 sitting of the legislative body, Vlad Filat was designated as Premier by the new Acting President of Moldova Marian Lupu. He is to form the new Government by January 14 and formulate the government program.
