“We should follow the example of our Czech colleagues and work together for results instead of fighting for glory. That’s the main message from Prague to Chisinau”, declared the Moldovan First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc after the meetings he had in the Czech Republic. In Prague, he met with the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate Přemysl Sobotka and the Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Lubomir Zaoralek. Both meetings focused on subjects about bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the Parliament. “We have a lot of homework to do in the process of European integration and exchanges of experiences with the parliaments of countries that have already joined the EU are really helpful”, said Vlad Plahotniuc. He noted that the Czech Republic currently chaired the Visegrad Group and requested special attention for Moldova in this group. Přemysl Sobotka highlighted the importance of cooperation between specialized parliamentary commissions in order to help Moldova avoid some mistakes. Meanwhile, Lubomir Zaoralek expressed his hope that the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit in Warsow would prove fruitful. The Czech official thinks time has come for Moldova to receive a signal to become a participant in the European integration process. Vlad Plahotniuc reiterated Moldova’s “give more, get more” stance in its relationship with the EU, meaning Moldova is ready to do its best in this direction, but expects corresponding financial and political support. The Moldovan dignitary highly appreciates the Moldova- Czech Republic Development Assistance Program 2011-2017. He expressed the gratitude of Moldovan communities that have already benefited of projects in domains like infrastructure, drinking water supply, social services, waste management, agriculture and environment protection, the development of good governance and of civil society.
