Vlad Plahotniuc says he is ready to renounce post of First Deputy Speaker

First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc said he does not stick to the seat he holds in Parliament. He made related statements for journalists after the legislature’s Standing Bureau decided that the PLDM’s bill that excludes the post of First Deputy Head of Parliament will be examined in the February 15 sitting of the legislative body, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I do not stick to posts. I can leave the presidium and sit in the hall. I feel fine among my colleagues from the PDM. You probably saw that I stay together with my colleagues more than up on the rostrum of the presidium. Under the AEI agreement, the post of First Deputy Speaker belongs to the PDM, not to me,” said Vlad Plahotniuc. He revealed that he negotiated this post with Vlad Filat when the PLDM asked for the position of Prime Minister. Vlad Plahotniuc also said that Vlad Filat’s announcement about the withdrawal from the AEI agreement was a pathetic show. “If the PDM and I personally had listened to the speculations, rumors and accusations made against Mister Filat, as regards smuggling and illegal privatization, we should have never made an alliance with this party,” he stated. “A new majority may appear in Parliament tomorrow.” Head of Parliament Marian Lupu said the authors of the bill concerning the removal of the post of First Deputy Speaker don’t realize what they did. “We will see what happens tomorrow. After tomorrow, we will know better how to act,” he stated. Vlad Filat informed about the PLDM’s defection from the AEI on February 13.
