The leader of the Party of Communists (PCRM) Vladimir Voronin called on the leaders of all the parliamentary factions to come together and discuss the precarious economic and social situation in Moldova so as to overcome the crisis. In a news conference on June 30, the Communist leader said a Government that would be supported by all the 101 MPs should be formed and society should be strengthened through the agency of the legislative body, IPN reports.

Vladimir Voronin noted that Moldova now faces serious social and economic problems. “We either overcome this situation in the country or we will witness an economic collapse. The whole law enforcement system, up to the Constitutional Court, is rotten to the core owing to the high level of corruption,” he stated.

The Communist leader said that even if the PCRM is in opposition, it voted for the Gaburici Government so as to unblock the situation at central level. According to him, the Government should not be formed based on political criteria. “We must join efforts in Parliament if we realize what is going on in Moldova,” stated Vladimir Voronin.

Asked if the PCRM is ready to hold talks with the Party of Socialists and the Liberal Party too, Vladimir Voronin said his party will discuss with all those who are ready to make effort to overcome the crisis witnessed in Moldova. “We entered Parliament because we were delegated by the voters. That’s why we are obliged to promote the interests of the people. We will have discussions with everyone who is ready to overcome the crisis,” he stated.

The leader of the PCRM also said that the party will send a relevant open letter to all the leaders of the parliamentary groups and will be waiting for an answer.
