Vladimir Voronin seeks denials from Moldova 1 TV channel

The leader of the Party of Communists (PCRM) Vladimir Voronin accuses the public TV channel Moldova 1 of broadcasting distorted information about the events of April 2009, when he was President of Moldova. He demanded that the channel denied the information. Otherwise, he will ask the supervision bodies to penalize those who disseminate untrue information, IPN reports.

In a statement, Vladimir Voronin says that the most monstrous lie refers to the number of victims. “With the cynic speculations about the mysterious and unclear death of Valeriu Boboc going on, the public TV channel makes a ‘present’ to society - three more victims among the ‘participants in the protests’. It seems that the real owners of the public TV channel aim to ‘add’ by a dead person to every anniversary of the April 7 tragic events,” says the leader of the PCRM.

Vladimir Voronin does not agree with the information that instigators were infiltrated into the crowd four years ago. According to him, the main goal of such interpretations is not to discover the truth and provide objective information to the public, but to misinform and hide the truth about April 7 so that the main organizers and beneficiaries of the attack on Moldova’s statehood and sovereignty are not known.

Contacted by IPN, Moldova 1 director Mircea Surdu said he was on a trip when the materials about the commemoration of the April 2009 events were broadcast and cannot comment now on the accusations made against the channel, but he will analyze the situation.
