Vladimir Voronin: We didn’t discuss formation of an alliance

The leader of the Party of Communists (PCRM) Vladimir Voronin said he discussed with no one the formation of a governing alliance and wasn’t invited to discussions. He made such a statement in the talk show “Fourth power” on N 4 TV channel, IPN reports.

The Communist leader said that even if an offer is made to him by the PLDM and PDM, he will turn it down. “We will not form an alliance with these two parties. We cannot achieve results together as we have different views. They are not serious. They pursue other goals than efficiently governing the country. They want a Premier who would obey all their orders,” stated Voronin.

He noted that the proposal made to the other parliamentary parties, including the PL, to sit at the negotiation table is still in force. “We submitted this proposal as we want to discuss what we should do further to overcome the rather difficult situation experienced by the country. Pirrka Tapiola approved of our proposal. We are ready to discuss with the Liberals too. They are different from the others and are plain. Ghimpu says it clearly what he wants. The others say one thing, but do another thing,” said the leader of the PCRM.

Vladimir Voronin considers the PLDM, PDM and PLDM will ultimately manage to form a ruling alliance because the situation now is different from that witnessed after the parliamentary elections. “There are now a number of factors that will make the three parties form a coalition, including the economic and financial crisis, the pressure exerted from outside and the evil interests of some of the politicians, who want to remain in power at all costs,” he stated.
