Vladimir Voronin is on the side of judge Ion Muruianu, who called the journalists “rabid dogs”.
“Ion Muruianu is one of the most decent judges and a good specialist in jurisprudence. I understand Muruianu and even agree with him in some cases. The journalists in Moldova are not at all independent. They are influenced and bought. I say one thing in the news conferences I give, but read another thing in newspapers the next day,” the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin said in a program on Prime TV channel, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The chairman of the Communist Party has an explanation for such a situation – the journalists are poor, have to earn their living and write what you tell them if you pay them. Vladimir Voronin is convinced that most of the political analysts in Moldova are paid to form a certain opinion. “Our analysts are bought to tell certain things. The only difference is that they receive more money than the journalists,” he said.
Ion Muruianu called the journalists “rabid dogs who become dangerous for society” during a speech given in the General Assembly of Judges on February 13, 2010. His assessment triggered a wave of protests and was one of the reasons for which Ion Muruianu was discharged from the post of president of the Supreme Court of Justice.
