The general voter turnout at 7pm was 45%. The Central Election Commission’s president Iurie Ciocan in a press briefing said that the elections in some of the settlements cannot be considered valid because less than 25% of the eligible voters cast their ballots there, IPN reports.
The voters in Pocrovca village of Donduseni district remain the most active ones. The voter turnout there was 53% at 7pm. The lowest voter turnout was recorded in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia – 36%. In Chisinau, over 38% of the voters marked their ballots, while in Balti – 41%.
The voters older than 50 remain the most active ones. Some 52% of these cast their ballots. Only 2.91% of the young people exercised their right to vote.
Over 17,000 persons could vote after being included on additional lists. Iurie Ciocan said this is an acceptable figure. For comparison, this figure in the parliamentary elections of last November stood at over 100,000.
