World Bank Country Manager praises Government for dynamic work pace

The World Bank Country Manager for Moldova Alex Kremer appreciates the dynamic work pace of the Government led by Pavel Filip. In a meeting with the Premier, the foreign official pleaded for continuing the dialogue and developing cooperation relations in a number of areas, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, Pavel Filip confirmed the executive’s commitment to promote reforms and to take concrete measures to regain the people’s and external partners’ confidence. He said that some of the important measures were already taken, including the approval of the package of legal amendments aimed at strengthening the financial-banking sector, the package of laws on integrity and other decisions designed to accelerate the fulfillment of the commitments assumed by the Moldovan authorities at international level.

Alex Kremer congratulated Pavel Filip on his appointment as Prime Minister in the name of the World Bank’s administration. He said it is felt that the executive works much more actively. “We appreciate a lot the spirit of cooperation and open dialogue that we noticed in a number of meetings we had recently with ministers,” stated the official.

The World Bank Country Manager for Moldova pleaded for continuing the dialogue and for extending the cooperation in the energy and IT sector and in the promotion of the business regulatory reforms. He expressed his readiness to initiate new assistance and expertise projects, including in the banking sector.
