The youth organization of the Party of Socialists “Youth Guard” is monitoring the situation at the Chisinau Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 4. In a news conference on Friday, members of the organization said they could not remain indifferent to the hospital’s destruction and decided to stage protests. Today, they ascertained positive results, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Eugenia Batca, a member of the organization, presented the copies of the documents showing that on January 18, immediately after the protest mounted by the Youth Guard in front of the Health Division of the Chisinau Municipal Council, the Health Ministry made an order to increase the number of places in the given hospital from 80 to 100 beds. Another order issued a week ago provides for increasing the sum allocated for every patient from 69 lei to 214 lei.
The hospital’s jurist Vasile Bolea told the same news conference that the institution’s administration and the young Socialists aim to attract attention to the problems faced by the hospital, including the embezzlement of funds. According to the jurist, in 2010, when the post of director was held by another person, a number of inspections were carried out at the request of an employee of the institution. There were identified financial irregularities of hundreds of thousands of lei, while last June the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office made an ordinance to investigate decision makers of the institution that caused damage of 600,000 lei.
Vasile Bolea said that the prosecutor ordered completing the investigation within 30 days. More than eight months passed and nothing is known about that case. The jurist specified that former director Dumitru Noroc is investigated neither as a witness nor as a suspect.
”We, the Youth Guard, reserve the right to follow in continuation the state of affairs at the Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 4. If more violations are identified, we will demand that they be removed,” said Serghei Doina, a member of the youth organization of the Party of Socialists.
