The 8th edition of the International Music Festival “2 Inimi Gemene” (Twin Hearts), in memory of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici, will take place in Chisinau between November 13 and 15, Info-Prim Neo reports. 21 children and 21 youths from 11 countries, including Moldova, Romania, Italy, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine and Latvia, will participate in this year’s contest. They will interpret one of Aldea-Teodorovici’s songs and one in their mother language. “Although the selection has already ended, we are still receiving applications from enthusiastic young people who want to participate”, has said Eugenia Marin, Doina Aldea-Teodorovici’s mother and director of the festival. 54 children and 49 young artists have participated in the selection and only 42 of them made it to the finals. Organizers invite the public on November 13 and 14, at 4 PM, at Mihai Eminescu Theater. In the first day will perform those participating in the Children category, while the singers in the Adult category will perform the next day. On November 15, the date Doina Aldea-Teodorovici was born, the Winners’ Gala will take place in the National Opera and Ballet Theater. The event will begin at 6 PM. Participants will receive special awards offered by sponsors and diplomas. This year, the main sponsor is Edelweiss Foundation, which prepared 2 special awards Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici. The 8th edition of the festival is organized in partnership with the Moldovan Government, the Chisinau City Hall, and Romanian Foreign Ministry’s Department for Romanians Abroad, which has sponsored the festival since its first edition. The Twin Hearts Festival has become an annual tradition and is organized by the family of late Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici.
