90 new cars for the National Police with support from Germany and Romania

The National Police has been equipped with 90 new cars with the support of Germany and Romania. They were distributed to police inspectorates across the country, IPN reports.

According to the General Inspectorate of Police, 44 cars were offered by the German Federal Foreign Ministry under the "Enable & Enhance" initiative to strengthen the capacities of the territorial subdivisions of the Police, with a predominant focus on territorial subdivisions located along the administrative security line.

Another 46 cars have been granted by the Romanian Government, within the project "Strengthening Public Order Situation Management Capacities", under the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania for the improvement of the quality of public order and community security services.

"Ensuring a higher level of safety for citizens and National Police employees remains a priority of the IGP's management, therefore, the equipping of police officers is a continuation of the activities of renewal and completion of the equipment and techniques necessary for operational work," reads a press release.
