The access to cemeteries in the capital city will be restricted the week between Easter and Sunday of the Dead (April 19-27, 2020), except for burials. A decision to this effect was taken by the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the municipality of Chisinau, IPN reports.

“I know that there are important, holy things, traditions, but nothing is now more important than not endangering people’s lives,” Mayor Ion Ceban stated in the weekly meeting of officials of municipal services.

In a recent meeting of the Synod of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, it was decided that Sunday of the Dead this year will be celebrated on June 6, 7 and 8.
