Admission to universities, the bachelor’s degree studies, for the first time this year will take place online, through the platform eadmitere.gov.md. The admission session opens on July 22. Admission to the master’s degree studies will be conducted in in the usual way, with the application being submitted directly to the university, Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun told a news conference.
According to the official, this year there are 16 higher education institutions waiting for students. There are 12 universities and four academies with an offer of over 200 specialties and study programs. This year, the candidates can choose a maximum of three universities where to submit their applications, and at each of them they can choose a maximum of three specialties.
For the basic session, admission will take place during July 22-31. On August 2, the preliminary results are to be announced. During August 3-6, the original files will be submitted to the university that the graduate will finally choose. On August 9, the final results will be posted. Those who will not be able to enter the university on the first attempt will have one more chance during August 10-14, as part of second round of admission.
According to Dan Perciun, this year there will also be a call center that will offer assistance to people who need guidance or have questions. The call center 08000 5005 will work from 08.00 to 18.00, starting with July 21 and throughout the admission period.
The minister noted that 70% of high school graduates choose to study in the Republic of Moldova and they expect this percentage to increase. This year, the state offers 8,697 state budget-founded places in universities and 25% of these are intended for education sciences.
Currently, 56,000 students study in the Republic of Moldova. The Ministry projects that about 15,000 students will be enrolled at universities this year.
