All the public institutions and apartment buildings in the municipality of Chisinau may be thermally insulated from next summer. On September 12, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said the possibility of thermally insulating the buildings was discussed in a meeting with the president of the European Investment Bank Philippe Maystadt last week, Info-Prim Neo reports. The mayor said the thermal insulation of all the blocks in the municipality of Chisinau represents one of the largest projects that will be put forward in several months. The works are projected to begin in summer. Dorin Chirtoaca instructed every division and district head’s office to prepare and present by Friday information about the costs that would be incurred for every building managed by them. He said the given project will be implemented in the suburban settlements as well. Dorin Chirtoaca stated that the insulation of the buildings will help save 40-50% of the heat and this will enable to repay the loan in a shorter period of time.
