Almost 11.5 thousand voters expected to go to the polls on May 18

Almost 11.5 thousand voters are expected to go to the polls on May 18 in four localities across the country where new local elections will be held.

The Central Electoral Commission says the number of voters ranges from over 2 thousand to almost 6 thousand, IPN reports.

Citizens who have established their domicile or residence after February 18 will not be able to vote, according to the Electoral Code, which requires a minimum period of three months from the registration of temporary domicile or residence until the date of the elections.

On May 18, new local mayoral elections will be held in Calugar commune in Falesti district, Chiperceni commune in Orhei district and Talmaza village in Stefan-Voda district. Elections will also be held for a new Temeleuti village council in Floresti district.
