The annual meeting of the World Congress of the Family this year will take place in Chisinau, during September 13-16. According to President Igor Dodon, the event is designed to contribute to keeping and strengthening the traditional family values, IPN reports.

“I think that without keeping the traditional family values, we cannot build a powerful state. I hope this and other events will help strengthen and keep the traditional family values in Moldova,” Igor Dodon stated in a press briefing. He said that Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and a delegation of the administration of Vatican confirmed their participation in the event.

President of the International Organization for the Family Brian Brown in the same press briefing said that regardless of the nature of each person, the family unites us and this value should be kept. The holding of the World Congress in Chisinau will also be an opportunity for the participants to see the beauty, hospitability and good people of Moldova.

The event is expected to involve delegations from 50 countries. In 2016 the meeting was held in Georgia’s Tbilisi, while last year in Hungary’s Budapest.
