The traditions and songs of a number of peoples were brought onto the same stage by students of the four Theoretical Lyceums “Orizont” within the second Festival of Language and Culture of Moldova. Director on education at the Theoretical Lyceum “Orizont” located in Durlesti town Elena Ciuhri has told IPN that given the national European integration policies, the national values should be promoted, while the students should be familiarized with the traditions of other peoples.
“The goal of this event is to create an area for ensuring intercultural dialogue and for prompting the national values and the values of other peoples. All the “Orizont” lyceums have taken part in this year’s festival with broad programs,” stated Elena Ciuhri.
She also said that even if the lyceums “Orizont” center on the students’ participation in national and international competitions and lay emphasis on the creation of optimal conditions for the talented students to realize their intellectual potential in exact sciences, the Festival of Language and Culture shows that the children also have artistic capacities, which are developed too.
The students of the four lyceums staged performances of traditional Turkish, Italian, Spanish and Moldovan music and dances.
