High winds caused damage of over 277,000 lei in Chisinau
The Chisinau administration spent over 277,000 lei on taking away the trees downed by the recent strong winds. Eliferie Haruta, head of the Green Areas Association, said the winds downed 317 trees in the municipal parks, but they took away only 180 trees as a part of them were stolen by the residents, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The falling trees damaged the roofs of six education institutions, fences and windows, said Tatiana Botnari, adviser of the municipal Division of Education, Youth and Sport.
According to the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Veaceslav Tarna, the two poles and the parapet of the bridge located on Mihai Viteazu St, which were downed by the winds, were restored.
Though the Mayor General of Chisinau ordered earlier removing the damaged billboards, representatives of the Division of Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations said a part of them remained to hang.
