A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion that he kidnapped a 42-year-old man in Băcioi. The police were alerted by several passers-by who witnessed the scene. The victim was physically assaulted and forced into a car, which left in an unknown direction, IPN reports.

The police determined that the kidnapper is the victim's former employer. The two had a professional relationship and the 42-year-old man worked for the suspect at his home.

The kidnapped man was found at the home of the suspect. When questioned, the latter said that he kidnapped the man in order to make him work and repay a debt.

If found guilty, the arrested man will serve 3 to 6 years in prison. Under the legislation, the persons under investigation benefit from the presumption of innocence during the trial.
