Movies that changed history of cinematography to be screened in Chisinau
After premiering the movie “Morgen”, which was put forward by Romania for Oscar 2012, ALTFilm and Mandragora continue to show Romanian pictures in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the company ALTfilm.
The movie “Merchandise and Money” produced under the direction of Cristi Puiu will be premiered on November 10, starting at 6pm. “It is the first Romanian production after 1989. It was selected in Cannes in 2001, in the section “Quinzaine des Réalisateurs”. It is considered a top film of the New Wave in the Romanian cinematography,” reads the communiqué.
On November 11 at 6pm, there will be screened another famous Romanian movie – “The Death of Mister Lazarescu”. It won the Top Prize of the section “Un certain Regar” of the Cannes Film Festival in 2005.
The two movies will be premiered in the presence of Cristi Puiu and the production crew. After the premier, the pictures will be shown at the Gaudeamus Movie Theater for a week.
Romanian movies will be screened in Chisinau until December 2. There will be also shown another picture by Cristi Puiu – “Aurora”. It was premiered in Cannes in 2010. In December, there will be screened the documentaries “Metrobranding” and “Victoria”, produced by Ana Vlad and Andi Voicu.
All the Romanian movies can be seen at the Gaudeamus Movie Theater at 6pm and 8pm on workdays and at 4pm, 6pm, and 8pm on the weekend.
