The members of Moldova’s Parliament held a minute’s silence in tribute to the victims of the shooting at the Perm State University in Russia. The proposal was formulated by the MP of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists Constantin Starîș, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the gunman killed eight people and wounded 24 others at the local university on September 20. Many of those hurt suffered injuries when they hurled themselves from windows to escape the gunfire.
The attacker was a first-year student aged 18 and most of his victims were fellow students. Authorities said he carried out the attack with a smoothbore rifle. The guard didn’t manage to push the panic button and was shot dead among the first. During the arrest, the attacker was injured and was put on a ventilator in intensive care.
