The rate of vaccination, at least with the first dose, among teachers increased to about 70%, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița has said, referring to data of the Ministry of Education. According to the Premier, this shows that the Government’s calls were heard and understood by the teachers and they are hopeful that the figure will grow, IPN reports.
“Regrettably, we see that this variant, Delta, has a much more aggressive behavior among young people and children. We also have a dramatic case in Soroca (13-year-old girl died, but death from COVID-19 is yet to be confirmed, e.n.). We have many other cases in which the victims are aged 30-40,” the Premier stated at the start of the September 3 meeting of the Cabinet.
Natalia Gavrilița also said that the Government received a number of requests to take harsher measures to limit the spread of the virus. Striker measures are needed in relation to the vaccination of public sector employees and of those who come into contact with the public.
In this connection, Natalia Gavrilița instructed Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco to organize a new meeting of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission so that this decides clear rules for the public and private sectors and asked the other ministers to come with support measures for businesses and employees if the Commission’s decisions affect their activity.
