More than half of the funds allocated for procuring medical services in 2025 under the mandatory health insurance system have been directed toward hospital care services. During a press conference, the Director of the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM), Ion Dodon, stated that the largest institution in terms of funding volume is the National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Assistance, with a contract exceeding 1.525 billion lei for the current year, IPN reports.
CNAM has signed 427 contracts worth approximately 16 billion lei with public and private providers, who will offer medical services to the population this year within the mandatory health insurance system. Of this total, 8.6 billion lei will be directed toward hospital medical care.
“In terms of hospital institutions, the largest in terms of financing by CNAM are the Institute of Emergency Medicine, with funding of nearly 800 million lei, the Republican Clinical Hospital 'Timofei Moșneaga' – about 800 million lei, the Mother and Child Institute, and the Oncology Institute – over 630 million lei,” noted the CNAM Director.
Seventy-six public and private hospitals under contract will handle the treatment of over 600,000 cases across various specialties, including day surgery, acute and chronic cases, interventions under special programs, dialysis services, and radiotherapy services for oncology patients.
